Well, hello there and Happy Easter! I am so excited to be writing this blog post from… Paris! Paris is my happy place. I grew up here back in the last 60’s and early 70’s and truly left my heart here. I’m back with my husband Tom and my son Matt for a special visit to an amazing Rothko exhibit that ends next week. One of the questions that comes up all the time about surface pattern design is: “How can I monetize my art? What are the best ways to get my artwork, including my repeating patterns into the hands of eager customers?” Today, I’m going to cover the top five ways to monetize your art. There are many more than five but let’s start there.

I’m thrilled to introduce you to my bestie from Sweden: watercolor artist Maria Ahl-Zanier. She’s an incredibly talented artist living in a small town in the south of Sweden. She entered my world in 2019 because she wanted to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator to turn her large scale watercolor paintings into repeating patterns using Adobe Illustrator.

Debby McLaughlin, a cherished member of my surface design community, recently achieved a significant milestone in her artistic journey. She signed her first licensing contract!
