Announcing Mastermind Founding Members!

I’m so excited! I’ve been dreaming about offering a creative mastermind program for the past three years. It’s thrilling to share who’s joined so that you meet this unique group of creative and ambitious women who are embarking on a transformative journey in 2024 as Founding Members of my Creative Business Mastermind.

Our welcome celebration last week set the tone for what promises to be a remarkable year of learning, sharing, and the pursuit of excellence together.

The foundation of this mastermind is built on core values that resonate deeply with each one of us. These include openness, kindness, patience, and grace. These aren't just words; they are the pillars that uphold the safe and nurturing environment we promise to each other. In the space that’s created by the Mastermind, every member can freely express their thoughts, share their struggles, and celebrate their victories in a confidential and supportive space.

Ready to meet the Founding Members?

Founding Member Introductions:

Our group's diversity is its strength. Each member brings a unique story, a distinct dream, and a set of goals for 2024.

Beth Buffington, licensed artist and Procreate instructor, hails from Chicago. She aspires to expand her reach to more students through her brilliant Procreate course. Her passion for teaching and her focus on student's success fuel her. She loves the flexibility that comes with owning her own business and growing it on her terms. That’s the real win-win.

Natalie Rotman Cote, an artist and photographer from New Hampshire, seeks to transition from hobbyist to businesswoman. Her goal for 2024 is not just to sell her artwork but to establish a successful business, blending her creative skills with entrepreneurial acumen.

Janet Hild, a seasoned textile designer and instructor living in Pennsylvania, is ready to refocus on her creative goals. We all experience times in our lives when other things take priority, right? 2024 is her year to explore the potential of online courses focusing on textile design so that she can merge her expertise in textiles with her passion for teaching.

Susan Palmer from north of Seattle is a professional quilter with deep connections in the fabric industry. Her goal is to expand SAGE Designers, a membership she founded for surface pattern designers seeking licensing deals. Her vision includes elevating the group to new heights, integrating more artists, and achieving financial stability.

Virginia Wygal from Texas, with a rich background in clothing design and product development, is beta-testing a pattern-making course using the “first 10” method. The customer journey for her ideal clients is from course to membership to purchasing fabric from Virginia’s own designs to use for their clothes. Her goal is to make her online business a self-sustaining entity.

Maria Ahl-Zanier, a watercolor artist in Sweden dreams of operating her business from a warmer locale. Portugal, perhaps? An accomplished artist and teacher, she seeks to balance the multiple aspects of her business which include courses, a retail store, gallery shows and a new painting membership. Her big goal for 2024 is to grow her painting membership to 150 members.

Lorraine Gwee Selman from San Francisco, is a multi-passionate creative with two big goals - creating her dream business and creating her dream home. She’s had these on her heart for years and is finally able to work on both equally. It’s a complex balancing act between her creative pursuits and house remodel work. You can do it, Lorraine! I have to mention that she’s a wiz using Canva for her marketing materials and she looks forward to the accountability and focus the mastermind offers.

Rocío Castellanos, a finance expert living in Switzerland, has aspirations to transition into a creative career and develop a collection of work focused on her love of tiles which is inspired by her native Mexico. Having lived in multiple cultures, Rocio can’t wait to share her passion for surface design and bring her unique talent and expertise to the tile industry.

Monique Johnson, a branding expert serving female-run small to mid-sized businesses, lives in Mill Valley with her husband and two young sons. Her branding work is extraordinary and she seeks to attract more customers in her favorite industries that include: travel, fashion and beauty. Monique is the “mastermind” behind all of the assets for my brand: Anne LaFollette Art, as well as my various sub-brands including Doodles, the Academy, Anne’s Atelier, and now the Mastermind.

Maria Dominguez, with a masters in architecture from UT Austin, has been an avocate for women in architecture her entire career. She’s eager to build a thriving online business with a focus on her love of interior design. She’s still working full time and delivers over 100 presentations a year! Her goal is to develop a roadmap that will provide her with a seamless transition from full time work into creative entrepreneurship. She mentioned having many wonderful things she still wants to achieve in life so she doesn’t plan to fully “retire”. Sound familiar?

Patricia Ann Brubaker from Connecticut, runs a beautiful inn and retreat center. Her goal is to expand the business into art retreats and teaching. Her mission is fueled by the belief that everyone deserves a retreat—a sanctuary where they can discover solace, tap into their creativity, and experience a profound sense of well-being. I can’t wait to hold a creative gathering at her gorgeous inn.

Everything Starts in January:

Looking ahead, the Creative Business Mastermind is structured to maximize each member's potential. Starting in January, we’ll have regular meetings with guest experts, a shared WhatsApp channel for communication, a private community for engagement, and interactive sessions with “hot seats” where each member gets input from the entire group.

Throughout this 9-month program, I’ll share the key aspects and building blocks of my own multi-six figure creative business. A key tenet we’ll lean into heavily is focusing on activities that directly contribute to achieving your goals and putting all the “shining objects” off to the side.

The spirit of this mastermind is - a collective where each member's success is a shared victory. This environment of mutual support, encouragement and the pursuit of excellence is what sets the Creative Business Mastermind apart.

MEET ANNE

Hi…I’m Anne!
My creative inspiration comes from a lifetime of observation. I grew up in Paris on the Place St. Sulpice and walked to school through the Luxembourg gardens. And that was only the beginning… Learn more by watching the video on my About page.
